OUR PROJECT
Making Universal Wellness a Community Priority
As shown by the success of the Universal Playground Project and similar endeavors, the Fox Cities is a very generous community with a great track record in supporting the need for more resources and services for people with disabilities.
To take these efforts even further, the Universal Wellness Project Steering Committee has developed a two-step plan to address overall accessibility and wellness issues and improve everybodys health and life.
Step One: Upgrading Local YMCA Facilities
Step Two: Developing a New Wellness Center
The reason these steps are so critically important? Without the necessary focus on fitness and wellness or availability of accessible facilities, people with disabilities are at risk for developing even more chronic conditions - heart problems and weight gain as well as high blood sugars, cholesterol and blood pressure.
